Terry Banez

CEO

Terry Banez is the President and CEO of the Greater Williamsburg Chamber of Commerce, where she leads regional advocacy efforts, collaborates with local, state, and federal legislators, and works hand-in-hand with economic development directors to advance sustainable growth and a business-friendly climate. A sought-after regional speaker and respected connector, Terry is known for her collaborative leadership style, creative problem-solving, and deep commitment to mentoring others.

With over 25 years of global executive experience across the U.S., Latin America, EMEA, and APAC, Terry previously served as Director of Trade Strategy & Operations for Newell Brands’ Yankee Candle division, overseeing more than $300 million in business.

Terry currently serves on the Executive Board of the Hampton Roads Workforce Council, the Virginia Association of Chamber Executives, the Board of Williamsburg Landing, the Hampton Roads Military and Federal Facilities Alliance, and RVA757 Connects. 

A proud Williamsburg native with deep generational ties to the region, Terry is passionate about helping businesses, nonprofits, and individuals thrive in the community she calls home.
